Bangalore, Jul 11: Jessie Rodrigues, Daijiworld's official representative here has been re-elected president of the Middle East Association, Bangalore at the 34th annual general meeting ((AGM) held at Maria Niketan Hall, Cooke Town here.

The meeting began by observing a minute's silence in memory of the departed members of the association.  In her welcome address, Jessie Rodrigues expressed her happiness that the Association had climbed the ladder of success rapidly and was proud to state that the Silver Jubilee Education Fund of the association had crossed Rs 2 Lac, which would help the poor and the needy children to pursue their education.

In addition, the association has initiated a new fund, that is, "Orphanage Fund” to facilitate the ongoing of Orphans' day. The total collection for the orphans' day cause exceeded Rs 1 lac, including the orphanage fund which is a record in the history of the association.

Later,  secretary Stella D'Souza presented the annual report. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by vice-president Kini.
