Daijiworld News Network - Mangalore
Mumbai, Jul 12: Maharastra happens to have a lion’s share of Mangaloreans staying away from their home town. Shivers went down the spines of Mangaloreans as India's commercial hub rocked with 7 bomb blasts in the evening of Tuesday, July 11.
The Mangalore office of Daijiworld.com went on a war-footing until midnight to cover as much as news as possible, especially to know the well-being of Mangaloreans residing in Mumbai.
Daijiworld's Mumbai correspondent Rons Bantwal was on his toes on this mission until he brought to us the news that there was no clue on any Mangalorean casualties in the bomb blasts.

Anxiety was at its peak among Mangaloreans to know the state of their family member, relative, friend or acquaintance. One could find people glued to their chairs in front of news channels, just to ensure that their people were safe.
"This is the second time that we are coming under such a shock. The first incident took place in early 1993 which is still fresh in our minds. It just augments the truth that life in Mumbai has become fearful,” said a resident of Bendorewell while speaking to Daijiworld.
"It’s sheer disappointment. First it was heavy rains that blew the wind out of the sails…..then Thackeray’s issue and within two days here is the biggest tragedy of the decade - the serial train blasts," was the genuine concern raised by a well-known college professor.

"We hope and pray that everyone who resides in Mumbai is fine. Our prayers are to God to heal the injured and restore normalcy to Mumbai. Words cannot describe the agony of those who have lost their loved ones,” was another response of a sensitive reader of Daijiworld.
Yes! Mangalore is shell-shocked on hearing and seeing the tragedy which struck Mumbai. Visits have been put on hold and and programmes rescheduled and all eyes were on the TV channels which bombarded the viewers with footages right from the blast-affected spots..
As reports poured into our office late night, there has been no causality reported of any Mangalorean in the blast.
