The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has said that the Chhattisgarh government should pay another Rs.50,000 each to the patients in addition to a similar amount it paid to the patients earlier.

The surgeries were conducted Dec 31, 2012, at the Bagbehra community health centre in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh.

Taking cognizance of media reports, the commission observed the patients were also administered substandard medicines.
