Government not involved in Saeed-Vaidik meet: Javadekar

New Delhi, July 14 (IANS): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar Monday said the government had nothing to do with the meeting in Lahore between yoga guru Ramdev's aide Ved Prakash Vaidik and 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed.

"The demand for a statement from the government on this is politicisation of terrorism. We had nothing to do with the meeting," Javadekar said.

"The Congress should not forget that its minister was calling him Hafiz Saeed 'sahab'. When Yasin Malik was fasting with Hafiz Saeed under their (Congress') tenure, no action was taken," he said.

Vaidik's meeting with Hafiz Saeed led to a huge uproar in parliament Monday.
