History of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is that the Holy birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Protoevangelium of James, an apocryphal gospel written about A.D. 150. From it, we learn the names of Mary's parents, Joachim and Anna, as well as the tradition that the couple was childless until an angel appeared to Anna and told her that she would conceive. (Many of the same details appear also in the later apocryphal Gospel of the Nativity of Mary.). The traditional date of the feast, September 8, falls exactly nine months after the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Perhaps because of its close proximity to the feast of the Assumption of Mary, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is not celebrated today with the same solemnity as the Immaculate Conception. It is, nonetheless, a very important feast, because it prepares the way for the birth of Christ. O Virgin immaculate, thou who by a singular privilege of grace was preserved from original sin, look in pity upon our separated brethren, who are nevertheless thy children, and call them back to the center of unity. Not a few of them, although separated from the Church, have kept a certain veneration for thee and do thou, generous as thou art, reward them for it, by obtaining for them the grace of conversion. Thou was conqueror of the infernal serpent from the first instant of thy existence renew even now, for it is now more necessary than ever before, thine ancient triumphs glorify thy divine Son, bring back to Him the sheep that have strayed from the one fold and place them once more under the guidance of the universal Shepherd who holds the place of thy Son on earth let it be thy glory, O Virgin who destroys all heresies, to restore unity and peace once more to all the Christian people.A very belated Happy Feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary to entire daijiworld team and one and all.

Though we celebrate the festival in our religion with different name but tradition is almost same and we call it “Korala Habba or Koral Kattunu” and may be day too some time different. Looking at the photographs compiled by Daiji Reporters all over coastal region as well as in overseas, we need to really appreciate the “Community Services” rendered by Daiji. Excellent Daiji… keep it up…… We also need to appreciate our International Coastal People for preserving our decade old tradition till date with much enthusiasm
