Delhi criminal arrested in Mathura


New Delhi, Sep 15 (IANS): A criminal wanted for trying to murder a police constable was arrested from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, police said Monday.

Dilshad, 35, who carried a reward of Rs.50,000 on his head, was arrested from near the Mathura railway station Sep 10.

A resident of Haryana's Mewat region, Dilshad and six others men who were in a car hit a Delhi Police patrol van April 24 and injured constable Ugarsain when they were asked to stop in south Delhi.

Although the police opened fire, the criminals escaped. Police said Dilshad was wanted in many criminal cases in Delhi as well as the National Capital Region.
