Babanna-Boobanna Tulu comedy serial gets rolling in Daijiworld247

Mangalore, Oct 27 : Daijiworld 24x7 infointment TV channel, which has become a household name within a shortest span of time since its launch in June this year, will present a pure comedy entertainment serial featuring noted artistes from the coastal region.

National award winning director and actor, Mangalore's pride Shivadwaj Shetty of 'Bangarada Kural' Tulu movie fame, has conceptualized and produced 'Babanna Boobanna'. The serial has already started its run from Friday October 24 on Daijiworld 24x7 channel, receiving tremendous response from the viewers from the first episode itself. Noted cine artistes Arvind Bolar and Sundar Rai Mandare play the roles of Babanna and Boobanna in the serial. Every episode has a moral message packed with comedy entertainment.

"We are happy to produce the serial for the recently-launched Daijiworld TV channel as already people talk very highly about its content and presentation. This serial will not only provide a dose of humour to the audience but each episode will convey a moral message too. Social awareness is our aim. Also, we have popular Tulu cine and theatre artistes involved in this serial," says Shivadwaj who is delighted with the response to the very first episode.

"Twelve episodes have already been shot and are ready, and shooting for more episodes is under way. We have chosen places in and around Puttur as the shooting locale, and it took almost one month for the first 12 episodes," he adds.

"Shashiraj Kavoor has written the dialogues for the serial. Talented senior artiste Sunda Rai Mandara is not only acting as Boobanna but also directing the serial. Chidanand Kamath Kasargod has made a special appearance," says Shivadwaj.

The key artistes in the serial are Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Naveen D Padil, Chandrahasa Rai Mani, Umesh Mijar, Shobha Rai, Shobha Shetty, Anusha Kudla, local artistes from Puttur Nemaksha Suvarna, Dayananda Rai Bettampady, Radhakrishna Rai Patte, Pavithra Hegade, Namitha Rai Keremoole and others.

Harish Shettymjalu has worked behind the camera, with Udayakumar Bannur as the assistant cameraman. Sony and Rajesh have provided the sound.

The Babanna - Boobanna is being presented by Adyar Madhav Pai.

Telecast time : Every Friday 7.30 pm, repeat Saturday 10 pm and Sunday 8 pm.

Daijiworld TV channel is available on cable networks and set-top boxes around the twin districts of the coastal region.

    Let us have a honest assessment.
    1. Kapikad's comedy show was the best thus far.
    2. The Harikatha 'Bhakta Sudama', the other night, as a Deepavali special,came a close second.
    What a rendition by the singer!
    Lord Krishna and of course, Sudama would have been impressed.
    3.BB is gathering steam as it is..and let us wait.
    Hope this comment which gives the 'true picture' is posted.It should always. that's how one improves...Is it not?
