Kundapur, Mar 5: A jatha of Anganwadi teachers and assistants was held under the leadership of CITU Kundapur.
The association met the Taluk Panchayat president and the vice-president, the Tasildar and the child welfare planning officer. They submitted a list of demands and urged the concerned authorities to implement them with no further delay.
The retirement age based on the Maharastra model (65 years), pension, minimum pay scale, disbursement of honorarium by the fifth day of every month and provident fund were some of the demands put forth by the association.
The jatha was a grand success and passed through several prominent streets of the town.
The leaders of the association of Kundapur Sabitha Shetty, Indira Byndoor, Meenakshi Pawar, Anasooya S, Shashikala Vandse, Rathi Shedthi Haladi, Sukanya Siddapura, Lolakshi, Sulochana Hebbar, Dahshayani Shirooru, Philomena Gangolli, Sumathi Shankaranarayana, Girija and U Dasa Bhandary participated in the jatha.
