Mangalore, Apr 7: "Our great strides in science and technology do not mean that we have achieved everything and that there is nothing left to learn. Without God's grace and mother's blessings we are nothing but empty vessels," said chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
He was speaking at the religious discourse held on Brahmari Vedike in Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple premises at Kateel on Friday April 6 evening. The discourse had been organized as part of brahmakalashotsava and nagamandala celebrations of the Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple.
Elaborating over his government's contribution for the upliftment of poor and needy, he said that no other state in the country has done so much for the poor. "We as a coalition government are determined to improve the standard of living of the poor, downtrodden and women. We see God in them and we are serving them to the best of our abilities," he added.
District-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty presided over while Shree Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Math blessed the gathering.
Medical education minister Dr V S Acharya, Mulki-Moodbidri MLA K Abhayachandra Jain, former minister Amarnath Shetty, MLA Yogish Bhat, B R Shetty of New Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi, deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao, Mumbai Bunts Association president Padmanabh V Shetty, state Apex bank president M N Rajendra Kumar, ZP CEO Kunjappa, temple administrator Krishnamurthy S and others were also present on the dais.
