Mangaluru, Aug 11: With a view to provide a platform to budding singers in the city and around, Daijiworld 24x7, the television channel of Daijiworld Group, will launch 'Mangalore Idol' contest on Independence Day on August 15 at Forum Fiza Mall in the city.
After a successful musical event in 2014 in association with Daijiworld, Big Time Creations is all set to find music stars in Mangaluru region with the second edition of Mangalore Idol. The contest has already created hype among Mangalureans.

Auditions
The first audition will be held on August 15 with the celebration and spirit of independence at Forum Fiza Mall from 11 am to 5 pm. All aspiring singers in and around Mangaluru can come and exhibit their talents and make it big.
The second audition will be held on September 6 at Forum Fiza Mall from 11 am to 5 pm.
Manikanth Kadri, the leading Kannada, Telugu and Tamil music director, playback singers Supriya Lohith and Santosh Venky will be the judges for the contest.
Highlights
The contest is a platform to exhibit real talent and get recognised. More than 1,000 participants are expected. Daijiworld 24x7 will telecast the episodes for three months.
Mangalore Idol trophy and attractive gifts await the winners.

Two new programmes from this month
Daijiworld 24x7, which has gained immense popularity along the coastal belt with its innovative and informative content, has announced two new programmes this month, one of which has already started airing.
The two new programmes are 'Manohara Mathu' and 'D Operation'.
As the name suggests, senior journalist Manohar Prasad, a repository of knowledge, who has immensely contributed to the field of journalism is presenting the special programme 'Manohara Mathu', said Mohammed Nisar, production manager of Daijiworld Television.
Manohar Prasad will be sharing his knowledge on tourist places in Mangaluru, and discussing special subjects concerning education and religion.
The show will be telecast every Saturday at 10 pm starting from August 15.
The other programme, 'D Operation' centres around the mysterious world of crime in Mangaluru city. The programme will be aired every Friday at 8.30 pm.
