Bangalore, Jun 22: There were anxious moments at the Bangalore Airport on Thursday evening when an Indian aircraft developed a technical snag while landing.

The 118 passengers on board the Chennai-Bangalore aircraft did not face any problem, but airport services were affected for some time after the incident.

According to airport sources, there was a problem with the aircraft’s hydraulics which forced the pilots to stop it on the runway immediately after landing.

‘‘The aircraft was towed away later,’’ an airport official said. An Indian company release said: ‘‘After a normal and safe landing, the IC-7542 on the Chennai-Bangalore-Chennai sector was halted on the runway at 8 pm owing to a minor technical problem.

All the passengers were safe.’’ The release said that the aircraft was cleared from the runway at 8.35 pm and claimed that there was no disruption of flights.

Alternative arrangements were made for Chennai-bound Indian passengers later in the evening as the flight was cancelled, it said.
