Bengaluru, Sep 9: When people from the state were waiting for a date on the expansion of cabinet in the state, the news has now come from the chief minister himself that the expansion will take place before the end of September.
Siddaramaiah speaking to reporters in Kolar on Tuesday said that the expansion will take place before the end of this month after the BBMP mayoral election is held. The expansion has been pending for several months.
Meanwhile CM’s planned trip to New Delhi on September 9 has been temporarily postponed. It was reported that he would consult the party high command on the issue of cabinet expansion during the trip. A pretext of road show related to Invest Karnataka which was supposed to take place on September 10 was given as the main reason for CM's New Delhi trip. But party general secretary Digvijay Singh, who is in charge of Congress affairs in the state, has gone to USA and only return on September 21. Till then the chief minister will wait and then may consult the high command on the cabinet expansion matter.
It is almost clear now that there is no cabinet reshuffle this time. It is believed that the proposed expansion is likely to accommodate maximum number of four persons with the minimum number being two.
