Udupi, Sep 10: Masood Foujdar the chairman of Karnataka minority development corporation (KMDC) revealed that state government has allotted Rs 185 crores for the current financial year 2015-16 in the budget out of which Rs 50 crores has been released. The commission had received Rs 172 cror in the year 2014-15.




Masood Foujdar was speaking in press meet at Circuit house in Bannaje here on Friday, September 10.

"The commission is planning to provide training on skill development for 10,000 students in the state and 1000 in Udupi district and the commission gives assurance for 70% placement for minorities and 30% for self-employment with providing loan from the KMDC by the end of October 1. Rs 4 crore has been distributed for various welfare programmes from the Rs 8 crore released to Udupi district. 2,300 persons have taken credit under the scheme. This year, CET passed beneficiaries had set a target of reaching the scheme to 5,000 students and reached to 4,000. There is a 5000 student’s demand for CET scheme." Masood added.

"In 2014-15 financial year, the material target was 2,424 and economic target was Rs 588.05 lac. We have reached 3,322 of material target and Rs 815.35 lac of economic growth by the end of March. Rs 1381.18 lac of loan amount has been recovered from the beneficiaries from April 2014 to August 2015.In the 2015-16 financial year, the material target was 2,351 and economic target was Rs 584.27 lac. We have reached 2,253 of material target and Rs 403. 70 lac of economical target by the end of August. We have written off loans amounting to Rs 358.98 lacs to 1,676 beneficiaries.: Masood concluded.
