Udupi, Sep 25 : Two close friends who drank together everyday did not know that they would come out from the bar as enemies. A conversation between the two at a bar, led to a fight which made one of them to stab the other.
The incident happened at Kaup on Wednesday night. Hemanth Poojary (37) from Yermal is the person injured. Narayana Jogi (40) is the person who stabbed his friend.
As usual both these friends went to a bar on Wednesday night for their daily drinks. As they discussed various matters, the conversation covered family matters too. Hemanth Poojary who was intoxicated mentioned Narayana Jogi and his wife’s name in an indecent manner which angered Narayana Jogi. Jogi took a knife and stabbed Poojary on his neck.
When Poojary got injured, Jogi himself took him to the Kaup police station and said he stabbed him because his friend spoke indecently about his wife. When the police were stunned to see the injured bleeding, they had to act and arrange for the injured to be taken to the hospital. They did not expect that Jogi who voluntarily came to the police station would run away. Jogi upon seeing the police being busy ran away from the police station.
Police took Poojary to Adarsh hospital in Udupi by an ambulance and saved him from dying. Later the police managed to arrest Jogi.
Poojary is being treated at the hospital and is said to be recovering. Police have registered a case against Jogi.
