Mangalore: Feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel Celebrated

Mangalore, Jul 15: The annual feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated at Infant Jesus Shrine here on Sunday July 15 evening.

This is the national feast of Carmelite Order usually celebrated on 16 July, or on Sunday that follows in July.
 
The devotees of Our lady of Mount Carmel in Mangalore, recite the traditional prayer, a special devotion to Rosary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel during July titled ‘Aounkari Bithari Sobhagini’.  Thus prepare them spiritually for the feast.

The new chancellor of the Mangalore diocese Fr Henry Sequeira, concelebrated the holy Eucharist with over 25 priests from neighboring parishes

Large number of faithful attended the holy mass.   The scapulars were distributed by the community of Carmelites.
 
Br Jason conducted the choir. Fr Patrick, Superior of St. Joseph Monastery thanked all who made the feast a success.
