Bangalore: 'Clutch' Set out in Top Gear on HIV/AIDS Awareness Mission

Bangalore, Jul 17: The traffic on Cubbon Park Road here came to a halton Monday morning as the big-hearted bikers of 'Clutch' set out on their cross-country mission to spread HIV AIDS awareness along with their message of peace and unity. The team, comprising mostly of artists from Bangalore, is on a bike expedition from Bangalore to Ladakh-journeying through the lengh of the country.
In a revved-up send off, the boys were escorted to the city limits by members of the Bangalore Biker's Club. Among the well-wishers who gathered for the flag-off near the Victoria Statue was DIG Polce M A Saleem, who expressed his support to the venture.
'Youth is the time to explore and see the world. I am happy that this group of young artists has taken this step to explore the country,to document their experiences on camera and also to contribute to AIDS awareness,' said Saleem.
While the road trip from Bangalore to Ladakh may have been covered by many an intrepid biker, the Clutch boys intend to make a journey with a difference. The journey will be a landmark one not only for the boys but also those working toward AIDS awarness as this is an issue to be addressed immediately.The bike expedition is a unique way of communicating this, pointed out a spokesperson from Freedom Foundation.
As members of Clutch include talented young artists and photographers, the adventures of the group will be documented for a photo exhibition reflecting the flavours of India, to be heald in Bangalore in August. A large part of the proceeds will go towards the Freedom Foundation, an NGO working toward rehabilitation of HIV + ve people and those addicted to drugs and alcohol.
In a statement, the group said, 'We love our country and its people. It is our dream not just to see the nation but to see the nation healthy and unified. Please support us in any way you can. The group is funding the whole expedition on their own and any support in the from of sponsorships funding is welcome.'
