Hindu girl embraces Islam to marry Shahi Imam Bukhari's son Shaban Bukhari

New Delhi, Oct 5 ( Zee News): Shaban Bukhari, son of Delhi Jama Masjid's Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bhukari, is all set to marry a Hindu girl from Ghaziabad, media reports claimed.

Several English and Hindi newspapers have reported about the 20-year-old Shaban Bukhari's plan to marry a Hindu girl. The two have been in a relationship for a couple of years, the reports said.

The Hindu girl, whose identity is not yet known, has reportedly embraced Islam ahead of her marriage on November 13. In preparation for her life as a Mulsim she has started to learn Quran, reports added.

Reports said that Shaban's father was against the marriage but relented after the girl agreed to convert to Islam.

Shaban Bukhari, a graduate in social work from Amity University, was formally anointed as the Naib Imam of the Jama Masjid last November. He will succeed his father as the custodian of the country's largest mosque.

However, ummid.com has quoted people close to Syed Ahmed Bukhari rejecting the reports on his son's marriage to a Hindu girl.

"These reports are a bundle of lies and an attempt to defame the Shahi Imam and his family ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat polls", ummid.com quoted Amanullah, the office incharge of the Jama Masjid Delhi, as saying.
