Mangalore: Noreen Anandi Vaz (35) Found Dead in Mysterious Circumstances

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (MB)

Mangalore, Jul 26: The body of a young woman had been found on the Sadashivanagar Suratkal beach on Wednesday July 25 afternoon. It was placed in a mortuary at Suratkal and the police, pending claim from the kin, released the details to the media seeking identity of the person.

It was identified on Thursday, July 26 as that of Noreen Anandi Vaz (35), wife of Lester Sequeira, who was an advocate by profession and was working in the Sales Tax office at Balmatta here in the city.

Background

Informed sources revealed that Noreen Anandi Vaz had been receiving threat calls from some anti-social elements and was passing through a state of fear for some time. She had discussed this matter with her husband, Lester Sequeira. On Wednesday morning, he, as usual, had dropped her near the office. Later on, when he rang her office to enquire after her welfare, it came to light she had not reported to the office on Wednesday at all.

It is yet to be known from a proper inquiry as to how she, instead, happened to be found dead in distant Suratkal beach on the outskirts. Later on Wednesday a note written by her was found which said if something were to happen to her, the people threatening her would be responsible. Immediately the family members reported the matter to the police apprehending foul play behind her disappearance.

However, on Thursday, after hearing reports of a female body having been found on the Suratkal beach, it was identified as of hers.

Sources also indicated that some sales tax case might have led to the threats. It is still a mystery as to how she happened to be found at Suratkal, many kilometres away from the city. The post mortem report is yet to be out.

As mentioned by Clement(Dubai), The case should e handed over to CBI immediately to bring to task the culprits. Pls make sure you update us with the happenings. It is really sad to hear this story. This case should be handed over to CBI and thoroghly investigated and criminals should be punished. This shows a sincere person cannot work in our country. Same thing happened to our Great Ex-President Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam.
