Mangalore, Aug 16: The new campus of C E Kamath Institute for Artisans, Miyar in Karkala taluk will be inaugurated on Saturday August18, said A M Kudva, deputy general manager of Canara Bank.

Addressing the media persons at the press club here on Thursday August 16, he said that the ambitious training centre has been set up by Canara Bank Centenary Rural Development Trust. Accordingly, the bank has purchased 4 acres of plot in Miyar and an artistically beautiful and architecturally magnificent building has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 1.25 crore, he informed.

Here, the students are trained in the hands of expert and renowned artisans. The union government will award certificates to the students, he added.

M B N Rao, chairman and managing director of Canara Bank will be dedicating this institute to the nation on Saturday Aug 18. 

Veerappa Moily, chairman, Union Administrative Reforms Commission will be the guest of honour. Dr V S Acharya, district-in-charge minister of Udupi, Shanker Poojary B N, president, Udupi Zilla Panchayat, Sunil Kumar, MLA of Karkala, V Ponnuraj, DC of Udupi and Hemalatha, CEO of Udupi Zilla Panchayat are the special invitees on the occasion, Kudva said.

B M Rai, officer of Canara Bank was present at the press meet.
