The decision made by the Minister not to increase the hike in water tax is really admirable. I would like to put some suggestion to the Honourable Minister that he should ask the Mangalore Corporation authorities to conduct a raid on all meter readers assets.

If this is done then definitely he can see an increase in the income of water supply which is now straight away going to meter readers. They earn 100% more than their salary. Once a thorough inspection is made on the assets of meter readers the Mangalore Corporation will know how much money has been lost that would have been an income to the corporation. And in no way it is necessary to hike the water tax. May I hope the Minister will take a note of my suggestion ?
