Mangalore, Aug 22: There is an urgent need to unite the different Dalit organizations to come together, by them forgetting their differences and working towards the betterment of Dalits stated Dalit leader and former additional cooperative registrar of cooperative societies, G R Krishnadas, here on Tuesday August 21.

Addressing media persons Krishnadas, who is also the Campco former MD informed that his presence in the city as a part of Dalit organizations Unification Andolan, was basically aimed at unifying the different Dalit organizations. As a person trying to make a difference, he stated that he would be meeting the representative of various Dalit organizations and will try and convince them to work together unitedly.

The main aimof the Andolan, he said was to bring dalits to the mainstream. Further he said starting from Chamarajnagar he would meet the Dalit organization members from across the state and wind up the ‘Andolan’ at Bidar.

Krishnadas felt that the state government has largely failed in the implementation of the programmes for the Dalit IAS and IPS cadres. The other state government employees of Ahinda background were being subjected to injustice by being made to compulsorily wait for promotion, he pointed out. In KPTCL there are 12 vacancies for the post of chief engineers but yet Minister H D Revanna is not considering the promotion list at all as most of the eligible candidates for the Dalits, he added.
