Udupi: Trinity Central School celebrates annual day

Udupi, Dec 14: Trinity Central School celebrated its annual day with all glitter and laughter on Saturday December 12. The theme proposed was, 'From a child to a mother… let us give a path for her.' S V Giri, police inspector, Manipal station inaugurated the celebrations by lighting the lamp.


































Fr Lawrence D’Souza, secretary, Catholic Education Society, diocese of Udupi, Dr Thomas J Quadros, president AICS, principal, Glowinstar Integrated School were the guests of honor, Fr Anil D’Costa, principal, Trinity Central School, Fr Maxim Nazareth, superior, Trinity Vihar, Perampalli Magdalene Lewis, coordinator, Trinity Central School, Naveen Fernandes, president, parents teachers association, Prajwal Pereira, president, students cabinet were present on the dais.

A Laxmi Bai, project coordinator, Bharathiya Vikas Trust, Manipal and Vishu Shetty, a social worker, Ambalpady were felicitated by the school for their selfless services to society.

On the occasion of being felicitated Laxmi Bai, a retired teacher said, “I have been more satisfied by my services after my retirement." She spoke about empowerment of women to be achieved not just by economic ways, but also mentally, morally and other ways too. “Man and Woman, to society are like the two wheels of a bullock cart. There is need to maintain proper balance. I myself have faced a lot of difficulties being a young girl. But now I am strong and have come a long way. I wish for everyone to come up at least to my stature, especially children of the rural community.” She stated the term ‘suicide’ as a sort of escapism, escaping from one’s responsibilities.

Vishu Shetty said, “Children are the true treasures of our nation. They must be taught well right from their homes as well as through school. They should explain the meaning of respect, truth, equality, sharing, humanity and more. They should be made to realize the after effects of all the evils of society.” He asked the parents to spend as much time as possible with their children, thus keeping an eye and monitoring them in the right way. He also asked the parents to act and talk positively. He said, “Care should be provided to a tree when it is a sapling, not when it is about to fall.”

S V Giri, attended the annual day on behalf of Annamalai K, superintendent of police, Udupi, and was pleased to be invited. He said, “It was right on the part of the school management to honour two outsiders who are known for their services in society, as this will create a great impact on the young minds. Children will understand the importance and will keep only good as their role model.” He said parents who are busy earning their daily bread; fail to keep an eye on their kids. The kid will be influenced by bad media, get involved with bad company, and be addicted to drug abuse and alcoholism. Buying all things for their kids on the basis of monitory power all the time will only spoil kids. He asked the parents not to expose their children to worldly luxuries.

He also asked the school management to organize camps for kids, in school, which he and his department will happily attend to train kids on drug abuse, effects of alcoholism and even prevention of harassment of girls.

A report on progress and achievements of the school was read by Magdalene Lewis, coordinator, Trinity Central School. Young achievers in academics and sports were awarded by the chief guest as well as the guests of honor.

Sunaina Lewis welcomed the dignitaries, Jayita Kotian and Samuel Menezes compered the entire program, while Shraddha Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

Trinity Central School is affiliated to the council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE), located in the serene of Shivally village, Perampalli. The school has attained stability in academics and extra curriculum activities. With around 700 students, 3 coordinators, 30 teaching staff and 30 non teaching staff, the school is run by the management of Capuchins residing at Perampalli.
