Mangalore, Aug 24: Fashion world is a common phenomenon all over the globe just not in India, what is not fashion today can be fashion tomorrow, Eric Ozario, president, Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy, said at the town hall on Friday Aug 24.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating Fashion Flash -07 inter collegiate ‘Fashion Show’ competition organized by Mangalore Institute of Fashion Technology (MIFT).

He called on the students of the fashion institutes not to idle away the time instead be creative.





MIFT is a institute which is catering to the needs of fashion, M G Hegde has not only designed the syllabus for the academics of fashion designing but also the lives of the students, he also hoped the programme will inspire the students to go ahead in academics as well as in life, Dr Shivacharan, director of Namma TV said.

“Though the word ‘fashion’ is new, but the concept denoted by the word is very old, our ancestors were conscious of the concept of fashion as they were aware of colours and combinations of colours. They fully distinguished among the dresses of Kings and servants,” M G Hegde, director said in his presidential address.






Rosita D’Souza, proposed vote of thanks.  Chaithra, compered the programme.  The students Anusha Rai, Rasheed and Robin, student union leader were present.

Varriety of fashion show was held by the model turned students of fashion institutes.  or  the students of various fashion institutions showcased their whole range of out fits that are designed by themselves during the fashion show.
