Mangalore: Billawas Dubai Distributes Annual Scholarships

Mangalore. August 26: "It should be appreciated that the members of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates are spending on betterment of the community at the cost of their personal savings and invariably the society " said Janardhan Poojari, member of Rajya Sabha and former Union Minister while appreciating the efforts of the association at Annual Scholarship distribution function held at Sri Gokarnanateshwara temple on August 26 in the city.
He advised the gathering to learn English with more emphasis, as English has become a master key to open the doors of bright future, and the members of the community should take key positions at the public as well as private sectors, if the community has to see the sea changes.
Umesh Kuckian, president of Billawas Dubai said, "Since inception, the association has been trying to uplift poor students to empower them to become a part of the main stream, education has become the top priority of the association, communication barriers prevented the association to reach needy students on time ."

Jaya C Suvarna, president of Bilava Maha Mandala told in his presidential address that
though the Billavas live abroad, they have not forgotten the native culture and tradition, rather they feel it is their pleasure to continue their tradition abroad"
Many meritorious students were felicitated and honored with cash prizes by Janardhan Poojari and other delegates presented in the function.
