Bangkok: Thai Kannada Balaga celebrates Ugadi with colourful event

Bangkok, Apr 27: Thai Kannada Balaga in Thailand celebrated Ugadi festival on Sunday, April 24 at India Thai chamber of commerce in Bangkok.

The event was presided by the DPR UN-ESCAP, Indian embassy deputy chief of mission Abbagani Ramu.



















Kannada Balaga children performed various forms of songs and dances on this special day. Mementos and certificates to the children were handed over by Usha Abbagani Ramu.

The Balaga members, both men and women, rendered special cultural songs and dances. A delicious vegetarian lunch was arranged by a Bangkok veg catering services for the all the people gathered.

The president K Patil welcomed the gathering and Abbagani Ramu delivered the Ugadi message and appreciated the people from Karnataka for their role in keeping the culture alive in a foreign land.

Former presidents of Thai Kannada Balaga, Mukund Rao, M B Ravi, Mohandas, Muttu, Vinaya Rai, Habibulla Saheb and Vincent Daniel Pinto were also present for the Ugadi celebrations.

Suprabha Sathish Shetty compered the event and Laxmi Smitha Acharya delivered vote of thanks.
