Music director Sajid of Sajid-Wajid fame loses his mobile which had tunes of all forthcoming films and personal pictures of mentor Salman Khan and other Bollywood biggies
Mumbai, Oct 17: We all know the agony of losing a phone in public transport, but few of us can afford to do what Sajid of the Sajid-Wajid music duo that scored music for the Govinda-Salman starrer Partner is doing: he is offering a cash reward of Rs 21,000 to anyone who returns his Nokia 3250 that he lost last week.
The reason for his desperation: the tunes he has composed for some of his current projects are on the phone's memory, along with 130 exclusive pictures of his friend Salman Khan, Salman's brothers Sohail and Arbaaz and other film biggies.
Salman has been single-handedly promoting Sajid-Wajid at the expense of Himmesh Reshammiah and was responsible for the duo getting to score the music for Partner. Sons of veteran tabla player Ustad Sharafat Khan, Sajid-Wajid have also given music for Tere Naam, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Hello, The Killer and Hello Brother, among other films.
A resident of 5th Road, Juhu, Sajid forgot his cell phone in an autorickshaw on Friday last when on his way to Mhatre Gym near Chandan Cinema, Juhu, for a workout.
He says excessive gymming had taken a toll on his body, so he decided to take an auto and not to drive down to the gym. "It was when I was on the treadmill in the gym that I realised I had forgotten my phone in the auto," Sajid says.
Sajid is acting in a remake of Telugu blockbuster Pokiri along with Salman. The film is being directed by Prabhu Deva. He has been working out extensively in order to try and lose weight for the film.
"Some of my compositions for the remake of Pokiri, along with those for other forthcoming films like God Tussi Great Ho, are stored in the phone's memory. Plus, there are 130-odd pictures of Salman, Sohail, Arbaaz, Preity Zinta, Govinda and others. There are also videos of my daughters Muskan and Mehak, not to mention the contacts list," he points out.
While Sajid has blocked his SIM card, he has not registered a police complaint -- for a reason. "I did not register a case as I knew the cops would punish the person who has taken the phone. I just want my phone back and will give Rs 21,000 to the person who returns it. I promise I won't ask any questions, nor would I report the person to the cops," assures Sajid.
He regrets he did not listen to his wife Lubna -- who had gifted him the phone in the first place -- when she had asked him to give her the phone in order to transfer all data. "Two days before I lost the phone, my wife asked me to give it to her. The phone was almost out of memory, and she said she would transfer all the data and return it to me in a day's time. But since I am so busy and can barely think of life without my phone even for an hour, I told her I would give her the phone later. I should have listened to her," he said.
