Hope St Aloysius College uses the Economic Department to develop economic forecasts for South Kanara. An annual economic forecast will help business leaders, government officials and the public take advantage of emerging trends.

Economics in a wide spectrum of disciplines in Science is a fantastic idea that will benefit the students to choose their particular interest and get fully specialized in the line of their choice.

India has all the corridors open for their young students to enroll themselves and get specialized in the Economic field that has wide scope all over India. There is no other country in this world that has the potentials of abundant human resources that could avail themselves with the new Educational challenges and get themselves engaged in the profession of their choice.

While Economic fields of application are essential it is important that all students get a feeling of touch towards the discipline of BUSINESS so that they could combine their Economics with Business and get themselves fully acclimatized with new challenges in life of ever-changing India.

While the students get enrolled with various new Educational disciplines, the questions comes as to who are the best Teachers and Professors that could fit into the new curriculums. The time is therefore ripe for the Educational Institutions to open new Chapters for the Faculty themselves to get fully adaptable to the new challenges of varied courses. Without the best of Teachers the students will tend to suffer in their long term performance. Ultimately, the Teachers as well as the students have to get adjusted with the growing challenges of the "Real World".

I commend the SAC for starting relevant courses so our younger generations can reach new heights and achieve their full potential.

While there are perennial needs for the institution to expand, improve infrastructure design new courses, the focus sometimes gets a beating. Our focus should be to give opportunity to poorer sections of the society. Giving these youngsters, affordable education will make a huge difference in their lives.

While there is no denying of the fact that fund raising is needed along with educational fees to meet the current as well as future( perennial) needs, ensuring affordable education should be given prime importance. Time and resources should be allotted to get donors to support the students education rather than the Institutions future needs.

Thanks you DW, for this very timely article. Aspirants today have deviated their focus away from routine Medical/Engineering fields. Accounts/finance, that was earlier dominated by men is now being considered by both genders with interest.

However, SAC needs to open up to the poor by offering scholarships. There are many in who are deprived our very valued assistance.
