Belagavi, May 31: Underworld element Bannanje Raja had demanded Rs 3 crore before killing Ankolas's businessman and BJP leader R N Nayak and not Rs 10 crore. This information is found in the additional chargesheet submitted by police to Koka court on Monday, May 30.
It was earlier reported in some media that Bannanje Raja had demanded Rs 10 crore before killing R N Nayak. A 500 page chargesheet has been submitted against ninth accused in the case, Bannanje Raja, 13th accused Najeem Neelavara, 14th accused Haji Ameena Pasha, 15th accused Suleiman Jainuddin and 16th accused Ananda Nayaka.

The police had submitted the chargesheet two weeks ago. Names of 326 witnesses appear in the case. The first chargesheet has 250 witnesses and the additional chargesheet has 76 witnesses added in it.
The hearing that was scheduled on Monday, May 30 has been postponed to June 28. The hearing was postponed as Bannanje Raja was not produced in the court.
Advocate Halappa said that bail application for the accused will be submitted during the next hearing.
