Dr R. Hegde your ambition in solving the problem of Mangalore Bangalore railway line is somewhat praiseworthy. If you were in Karnataka and tried to express your concern it would have been nice.

Mr. Krishna K, Mangalore to Bangalore used to take 8 to 9 hours, a few years ago when I was using it. It may be taking little more time now, say 13 hours as you say, due to road repairs. We heard so much about the railway line and the assurances from different corners that the line is ready for introduction. But what in reality is unknown. The Govt. administration is facing very many complications from different circles. May be Dec 8 is what now can be expected.

My view is that Mangalore Bangalore train is a must. And Palghat division should be separated from Mangalore. This issue also should be raised by the ongoing strike people then only Mangaloreans will get benifeted. Travelling by bus is a hazardous thing, if we want travel to bangalore nearly it takes 13 hours by bus. once the train starts its a really relief to the mangaloreans.

To Mr Janardhana Poojari Mr Veerappa Moily Mr Oscar Fernandez As you all aware that Mangalore- Bangalore passenger trains services so vital for the economic development of the coastal region. You have represented this region as public servants for the past 3-4 decades. Still you haven’t done anything in this particular issue. Although you are in the inner circle of the UPA government and Moily is holding an important portfolio of Chairman of planning commission none of you have ever expressed any concern for the undue delay in staring the train services. Mr For unknown reasons all of you have completely ignored the long standing wishes of all the Mangaloreans. It is a shocking surprise none of you have never uttered a single word or concerned about this issue. Please resign from the public life and you have no moral right to hold any posts to serve the people.

The Mangalore Bangalore Train officially takes 12 hours to cover a distance of 350 Km. Indian Railway is known for delays. There could be delay of 2-4 hours. These train services are virtually useless until it runs in a decent time and it is an additional loss to the Railways. Railways had enough time to do the upgrading measures. They have been sleeping on the track for the last couple of years. If the Railway dept is not ready with a decent time to cover the distance what is the point in starting the train? To meet the growing demands of the two cities I feel Mangalore- Bangalore needs nothing less than a Shatabdi- Express
