Mangaluru/New Delhi, Aug 9 (India Today & Agencies) : Mangalurean husband books tickets for honeymoon abroad, visa is ready, but the wife loses her passport! What happens next is nothing less than from a scene straight from a Bollywood flick. The man rather than panicking, tweets photo of him traveling alone with his wife's photo to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Unique Photo
Faizan, a Mangalurean staying in Delhi, travelled solo to Europe without his wife Sana. As Sana lost her passport Faizan decided to tweet to Sushma Swaraj asking for help. He said, "This is how I am travelling with my wife as of now" and a unique photo of Faizan seated along an empty seat where Sana's photo is pasted.
Help Through Social Media
This was not the first tweet he sent to the External Affairs Minister who is known to help citizens through social media. In a series of tweets he pleaded for help. In one such tweet Faizan Patel literally lost his cool saying, "We had got our Schengan visa within two days of applying for it. Getting a new passport seems like a task." But the photo seemed to have done the trick.
When Faizan posted this emotional photo, the Parliament was discussing the all-important GST Bill. But the moment she stepped out and checked her timeline.
Sushma asked Faizan to request his wife Sana to contact her. If that's not all she said, "...I will ensure that she is with you on the next seat".
Faizan, who studied MS Communications at Manipal University, and Sana thanked Sushma Swaraj for her timely help.
Prompteness in Help
This is not the first time Sushma Swaraj stepped in. From bringing kidnapped Indian woman Judith D'Souza home from Afghanistan or responding to requests over social media, from stranded Indians in Middle East, she has shown promptness. So much so that someone jokingly complained about his refrigerator to her over Twitter.
But as in this case, Sushma Swaraj stepping in to get a young man spend his honeymoon with his beloved wife has surely won many hearts.
