Mangalore, Dec 18: The annual day celebrations of the Urdu Government Composite High School were held on Monday December 17.
Presiding over the function the former MLA N Yogish Bhat declared that a school can prosper and develop not just with the support of government and other bodies but with the active support of parents, teachers and especially the students themselves.
Bhat opined that the significance of the children is much more in the upliftment of schools. If teachers put their heart and soul while imparting knowledge and education and the children too imbibe the same in the same spirit, then definitely will the school too flourish, he advised. Hence he emphasized in his speech, on children doing academically well by working hard on their studies in school.
Further he informed that a sum of Rs.50 lac has been invested for school’s development so far, out of which 9 lac is for the 'Ranga Mandira' (Cultural Halls), 4 and half lac for computer rooms, which is under construction.
Speaking on the occasion Rajeshwari, in-charge Prabhara school in her speech said that the active support of old students of the school is significant for conducting all activities of the school.
Former mayor Ashraf, corporator Mamata Shenoy, school development committee-in-charge Ashgar Ali, B Mohammud, Zahira Fatima and Zohara were also present on the occasion.
