Mangalore: Unique Annual Get-together of Christian Planters' Guild

Mangalore, Dec 29: The Christian Planters' Guild had its annual get-together programme near Sultan Battery here on Friday December 28.

'Little Theatre' a children's Christmas show was organized on the occasion in which children of the Guild members presented a play titled 'Bimbo the Artist.'

A fashion show choreographed by Patcy Lobo was also held as part of the event. It was a unique display of creativity with members wearing jewellery made of vegetables like carrots, capsicum and cabbage as earrings, anklets and headgear. The theme of the fashion show was introduction of malls and their impact on vegetable sellers. The 'mall' also showcased a dancing school with jive, cha cha, baila and waltz.

Among those present were president of the Guild Dr Henric Lobo, vice- president Anita Mathias, secretary Mario Saldanha, treasurer Trevor Pinto and others.
