Mangalore, Dec 30: "Every region has one or other the problem relating to law and order in varying degrees, however, I am totally satisfied with the law and order maintained in the district by the police," informed Vatsala Vatsan, principal secretary home affairs, government of Karnataka.
Vasan was addressing media persons at a press meet held at the office of the superintendent of police here on Saturday, December 29.
The police has been keeping an eye on undesirable activity like illegal transportation of cow that could lead to communal clashes in the district. In case of such undesirable eventuality, we have taken proper measures to curb it, she added.
Answering questions raised by the media persons, she clarified that no mass transfers have been suggested by the governing body, if any significant decision is made in this regard journalists will be the first to be informed, she promised.
With regard to issues like housing facility for the police personal, she said that there are two kinds of schemes before the government for consideration, one is residential and another is non-residential. All these housing problems would be solved once sufficient funds are released by the Centre, she hoped.
Trying to erase the apprehension of the public that sea could be used as a mode of infiltration, she informed that a close watch is being kept on infiltration activities, irrespective of the mode of infiltration. The coastal guard has been reinforced, hence any apprehension pertaining to this is baseless, she assured.
On the question of recruitment, she said that it has been done twice a year since the past two years. And added that the situation would not be any different in the coming years.
