Mangalore: Phone is Dead for 6 Months, but BSNL Issues Bills

Newindpress

Mangalore, Dec 31: Though the telephone is dead for the last six months, the BSNL is prompt in sending rental bills to its customer.

Thanks to both the Karanataka and Kerala BSNL authorities. Ramakrishna Bhat, who hails from Padre village near Panaje Exchange had received rental bill for the month of August 2007, even though he was informed on August 1 that his connection would be shifted to Vaninagara in Kasargod district.

The telephone number 287234 belongs to Ramakrishna Bhat is located at Padre in Kerala. But the connection was provided to him from Karnataka in 1977.

The residents say that around 10 such phones are in the same condition, awaiting the concern of authorities. Unfortunately, both the Kerala and Karnataka BSNL authorities are turning a Nelson’s eye to the problem.

It was said that the Karnataka BSNL authorities are not interested in fixing the problem since the area comes under Kerala state.

The Department had also served notice to all residents who have telephone connection from Panaje Exchange, informing that their connection would be shifted to Vaninagar Exchange of Kerala state. But the authorities neither shifted the connection nor repaired the dead phones, the residents say.

Well this is Karnataka BSNL standard. Keep the staff busy and go on watering the dead tree!! Collect all the bills and use for fire to keep warm when it is cold.

Congrates to BSNL, and one should appreciate for prompt billing, but not the service. This is how a PSU of India works in 21st century. Should this be there in 2020..???
