Kundapur, Jan 11: The old ferry road garden on the bank of Gangolli River near here was about to go into oblivion forever. Thanks to the Kudcemp project worth Rs 11.98 lac envisioned by the ex-councilors of the municipal council, it has now worn new looks.
The garden in its extensive area with a width of 896 feet is now on its final phase of completion. The garden is now fortified by stonewall around and equipped with cozy seats, in between in order to facilitate the evening visitors to enjoy the evening.
Breeze of the riverside and the night scenario of the Arabian Sea are an added attraction of the new garden. The fortification of stonewalls has prevented the neighboring residents from misusing the garden space as a dumping yard of garbage and the other wastes. The ferry road garden is the only evening resort next to Gandhi Maidan. Earlier a strong lobby was working for establishing a fish market in the place of the existing garden.
