M’lore: ‘Expressions’ Art Exhibition Inaugurated at Prasad Art Gallery

Mangalore, Feb 22: ‘Expressions,’ the art exhibitions of Veena Srinivas has begun at Prasad Art Gallery on Thursday, February 21 evening.

Anupama Shetty, managing trustee of Gurukul Public School, inaugurated this exhibition and said that the role of the teacher is very important in bringing out anyone’s talent. Veena’s talents were recognized and nurtured at a right time. Therefore, she has become a greatest artist of coastal area, Anupama Shetty opined.



Well known pediatrician, Dr Shantaram Baliga was the chief guest of the occasion. He said that new generation has been exposed to western culture. owing to which the society has failed to promote their inherent capabilities, he expressed concern.

Every art has an expression and message to convey. Common people may take long time to understand the art. It doesn’t mean that the art is of lesser respect, he added.



Fr Denis D’Sa, administrator of Fr Muller Medical College, presided over the function. He asserted that 21st century belongs to women and the men should support them in their endeavour.

Meanwhile, Veena Srinivas felicitated her art teacher, M R Pavanje.

Janardhan Baikady compered the programme. Various kinds of paintings created by Veena Srinivas since last one and half decade have been displayed at the exhibition here at Prasad Art Gallery. This exhibition will be open till Sunday February 24, from 10.00 a m to 7 p m.
