Dubai, Mar 1: A cricket tournament of limited overs, organized by "Mangalore Friends" was held on Friday February 29 at Jebel-Ali West Camp ground here. It was inaugurated by a senior member of Mangalore friends Raju Poojary.

The tournament was a display of non-stop cricket and team spirit amidst cheering by the spectators.  The spectators also enjoyed the tasty lunch provided by the organizers.

The participant teams were Gerab, Koti Chennaya, Shivsagar, Ullal brothers, Maxell international, Kantha Baare, Booda Bare and Kambala. Out of the 8 teams Gerab and Kambala were the finalists. After a tough fight, Kambala team won the final match.

Prizes for the winning team, runner up team and other participant players were distributed by Sathish Poojary, Anand Bailoor, Anand Salian and Noel D'Almeda.

It was a day filled with enthusiasm, entertainment and joy. The players and spectators whole-heartily appreciated the efforts put in by Dinesh Poojary, a familiar and well-known face in Jebel Ali and Dubai,
for organizing such a great event.

Running commentary in Tulu and Kannada for the matches was one of the highlights of the tournament.
