Mangalore, Mar 18: The national parties in Karnataka have fully failed to safeguard the interest of the state. Therefore, Karnataka needs a strong regional party, said former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Speaking at the Janata Dal (S) party activists’ rally organized at Town Hall on Tuesday March 18, he said that he will not take rest until JD (S) comes to power. Accidentally, he was elected MLA from the constituency in Karnataka and even he reigned as CM of this state for 20 months. Similarly, he would once again bring the party to power in the state, he expressed confidence.

Commenting on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s statements on the state, he reacted that only ‘Karnataka’ has already set the political legacy in the state which would not allow ‘Gujarat model’. If BJP comes to power in the state, it will put Karnataka into bankruptcy, he cautioned.

Speaking on the entry of former chief minister S M Krishna, he said that Krishna has not seen the face of Kannadigas’ in the Karnataka soil since the past 4 years.  Moreover, it was during Krishna’s chief minister-ship that Congress was pushed down to 65 seats from 140 seats.  Therefore, he would not worry on Krishna’s entry into state politics, Kumaraswamy asserted.

The village stay programme of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, loan waiving programmes of union government and ‘Janatha Darshan’ of Governor Rameshwar Takoor were introduced by H D Kumaraswamy. This implies that many of his successful programmes have become role models to other party leaders. he opined.

“JD (S) has not cheated BJP instead it provided opportunity to the latter, in order to enjoy power for the first time in the history of state administration. BJP should remain grateful to JDS in this regard.  However, BJP has cheated entire India by collecting crores of money with the promise to build Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, which was not realized till today, he accused.

Former ministers Amarnath Shetty and M C Nanaiah, former MLC Abdul Azim, JD (S) district president Balaraj Rai, other JD (S) leaders Philomena Peris, B Subbaiah Shetty, Shriyala Hegde, Rajashree Hegde, J S Noronha, Aboobaker Natekal and others were present on this occasion.

I am extreemly happy to read Mr. Kumaraswamy says " No rest untill JD(S) comes to power independently" I hope at least he keeps up this promise, for 100 years we may see him restless but not in power to degenerate politics wich is in the process of decay. Ajit Kumar

People of Karnataka had given a chance Congress, JD(S) and BJP to rule, and they now realized that JD(S) is regional party and not national and it has failed to concentrate on development of Karnataka instead it wasted time in quarreling each other during its tenure. And the BJP is dividing the country on the basis of language, religion and region & spreading hatred among the citizens. And congress, it has leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan singh. If congress party ready to learn a lesson from the past, congress can have a stable government in Karnataka.
