M’lore: ‘No Rest until JD (S) Comes to Power Independently’; Kumaraswamy

Mangalore, Mar 18: The national parties in Karnataka have fully failed to safeguard the interest of the state. Therefore, Karnataka needs a strong regional party, said former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Speaking at the Janata Dal (S) party activists’ rally organized at Town Hall on Tuesday March 18, he said that he will not take rest until JD (S) comes to power. Accidentally, he was elected MLA from the constituency in Karnataka and even he reigned as CM of this state for 20 months. Similarly, he would once again bring the party to power in the state, he expressed confidence.
Commenting on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s statements on the state, he reacted that only ‘Karnataka’ has already set the political legacy in the state which would not allow ‘Gujarat model’. If BJP comes to power in the state, it will put Karnataka into bankruptcy, he cautioned.
Speaking on the entry of former chief minister S M Krishna, he said that Krishna has not seen the face of Kannadigas’ in the Karnataka soil since the past 4 years. Moreover, it was during Krishna’s chief minister-ship that Congress was pushed down to 65 seats from 140 seats. Therefore, he would not worry on Krishna’s entry into state politics, Kumaraswamy asserted.
The village stay programme of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, loan waiving programmes of union government and ‘Janatha Darshan’ of Governor Rameshwar Takoor were introduced by H D Kumaraswamy. This implies that many of his successful programmes have become role models to other party leaders. he opined.
“JD (S) has not cheated BJP instead it provided opportunity to the latter, in order to enjoy power for the first time in the history of state administration. BJP should remain grateful to JDS in this regard. However, BJP has cheated entire India by collecting crores of money with the promise to build Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, which was not realized till today, he accused.
Former ministers Amarnath Shetty and M C Nanaiah, former MLC Abdul Azim, JD (S) district president Balaraj Rai, other JD (S) leaders Philomena Peris, B Subbaiah Shetty, Shriyala Hegde, Rajashree Hegde, J S Noronha, Aboobaker Natekal and others were present on this occasion.
