Mangalore: Police Arrest two in Simon D’Souza Murder Case

Mangalore, Mar 25: City police have arrested two persons on Tuesday March 25 morning, who were accused of murdering Simon D’Souza, beetle leaves and areca nut dealer, resident of Faisalnagar, Bajal which comes under the jurisdiction of city rural Kankanady police station, who was brutally hammered to death by some identified persons on Wednesday March 19.
The arrested are identified as Majeed, resident of Faisalnagar, Bajal and Sadakatulla, resident of Boliyar. Meanwhile, the policemen are in look-out for two more accused who are absconding. The accused who were subjected to heavy interrogation by the senior police officers agreed of having committed the crime for money.
The deceased Simon D’Souza was a petty trader dealing in beetle leaves and areca nut at city central market since over 3 decades who was following the same routine of leaving the house at 4.00 a m along with cash. The accused were watching his movements who hammered him with firewood nearby his house.

Sources stated that Sadakatulla, originally resident of Boliyar, in Vittal, who was on his move since he deserted his family and stayed with his relatives at Thumbe, in Bantwal and other places in city, aspiring to go to Gulf. However, he has to heel his feet in the prison due to his role in gruesome murder of Simon.
