Mangalore, Apr 1: “Today’s kids are tomorrow’s nation.  It was indeed a treat to the eyes to see the kids perform superbly during the annual day celebrations”, said Prof Rolphy Mascarenhas, director of Kanachur Academy of General Education, while addressing the gathering at the annual day celebration of Lourdes Central School Kindergarten, on Tuesday April 1.

The programme began with the prayer hymn by the little children followed by a welcome dance.  The stage programme was compered by Lenver Pinto and Mananj Shetty.  A group of 4 boys delivered the welcome address.  Grace Noronha, principal of Lourdes Central School introduced Prof Rolphy Mascarenhas, director of Kanachur Academy of General Education who was the chief guest on the occasion.

Students of KG 1 enthralled the audience with their foot-tapping song, ‘picnic day under the lollipop tree with butterflies'.  It was followed by folk dance ‘Darya Kinare’ by the students of KG 1 and 2.  ‘Kisne Banaya’ medley in Hindi reminded all of the Almighty God, the creator.  The skit on ‘Search for happiness’ was presented beautifully, in order to bring home the message of looking for inner joy.

Prof Mascarenhas urged the parents to concentrate on the allround development of children rather than  grades and marks.

“Develop competency”, he said.  “Education is optimum utilization of all the resources, thereby making the individual to face life confidently,” he emphasized.

‘Mera Mulk Mera Desh’ was the patriotic dance that got all the audience to feel proud of the nation.

Little students of KG expressed their heartfelt gratitude in a unique way.  It was indeed a kid’s show without a single teacher taking the mike.
