Udupi: Congress, JDS Leaders Join BJP in Yedyurappa's Presence

Udupi, Apr 3: Former chief minister B S Yedyurappa paid a visit to the town on Wednesday April 2.
Local Congress and JDS leaders joined Bharatiya Janata Party on this occasion. Among those who joined the party were Udupi Block youth Congress president Santhosh Suvarna, Raghupathi Brahmavar, Udyavar village panchayat former vice-president Radhakrishna Shriyan, Sudhakar Shetty JDS leader and lawyer Ratnakar Shetty joined BJP.
Commenting about the recent heavy rainfall in the state especially in the Coastal districts, Yedyurappa informed that losses incurred has been estimated at Rs 1500 crore. He therefore, urged the Centre to release Rs 500 crore immediately as compensation.
BJP will be contesting independently for all the 224 MLA seats in the coming election and the delimitation initiated by the election commission's office will definitely help BJP, he opined.
Yedyurappa stated he will be answering Kumaraswamy and H D Revanna in the coming election. With regard to a specific query he clarified that he will be fighting the election from Shikaripur until he is there in politics, he added
Former ministers Dr V S Acharya and Nagaraj Shetty, former MLAs Lalaji Mendon and Raghupati Bhat and others were present on the occasion.
