Mangaluru, May 24: Readers of daijiworld have once again made a difference and given a ray of hope to a needy family.
On May 11, daijiworld had published the plight of a watchman whose young and bright children needed financial support to pursue further studies. Soon after the appeal went online, readers from all corners responded and offered to help the family.
In a commendable humanitarian gesture, three persons, who wish to remain anonymous, have come forward to sponsor the education of the children.
Man Bahadur and his wife Geetha Devi, hailing from Mahender Nager located on the Indo-Nepal border, came to Mangaluru 22 years ago. Bahadur was hired as a watchman, but unfortunately, he lost his job in 2015 and since then, the family has been struggling to make ends meet. Among their four children, Anitha and Manisha have completed their SSLC and dream of studying further. Suraj and Sujatha are in the high school.
Now, the family is greatly relieaved and extremely happy. Three families who do not want to reveal their names in public have come forward to bear the entire expense of the children's education. Thanks to the generous sponsors, Manisha and Anitha have already got admission in Padua PU college for commerce, as they had desired.
"We are grateful to the sponsors and the readers of daijiworld. Until now, we had believed our children's dream of pursuing higher education would remain just a dream. Our children, especially Manisha and Anitha were sad that we could not afford their education. But daijiworld readers have made them happy and proved that there are a lot of kind-hearted people in society. Once again I thank everyone for supporting us," said an emotional Bahadur.
He also said that apart from the three sponcers, a large number of readers contacted him and offered to extend a helping hand.
