Three Afghan border police personnel shot dead


Kabul, July 17 (IANS): Three Afghan border police personnel were shot dead in Herat province on Monday.

"The shooting took place in Ahmad Abad locality outside Herat city after armed men laid an ambush," a senior official told Xinhua news agency.

The victims were travelling to office in the town of Islam Qala near the border with Iran. No group has claimed the attack.
