Mangalore: 'Chiguru Awards' Presented to Budding Artists

Mangalore, Jun 8: A state level award distribution ceremony for presenting the 'Chiguru' awards to the budding artists was organised by Chakrapani School of Arts at the Glass House of Kudroli temple on Sunday, June 8.

MLA and former minister Vasant Bangera inaugurated the programme and graced the occasion. Kumarnath, resident editor of Vijay Karnataka daily, dramatist Shi Na Nadoli and entrepreneur Shrinivas Bantwal were the chief guests of the occasion.

Satyanarayan B and Sundar Todar were present on the dais.

















On this occasion, Congress leader Harikrishna Bantwal released a magazine titled 'Varna Chiguru.' Litterateur Dr Vaman Nandavar presided over the function.

A total of nine students studying between first to 10th standard were presented with 'Chiguru Art Award' and 30 students were given merit award. Five students studying in the colleges were presented with 'Chakrapani Art Award' and 11 were given merit award.

Madhav Suvarna welcomed the gathering. Suresh Pandavarakallu proposed vote of thanks. Taranath Kairangala and Sudhakar Shetty compered the programme.
