Mangalore, Jun 10: Heavy rainfall in the coastal belt has caused havoc, resulting in a number of accidents, a few injuries and many other forms of losses.

On Monday June 9, it was another tragedy in the life of Estel Crasta and her family. The house they were living in was hit by the heavy winds and incessant rainfall, causing the house to collapse partially. The roof got displaced and tiles were snuffed within moments.

In a matter of minutes, Estel's family was forced in to the streets.

Daijiworld's ever-dynamic photographer Dayanand Kukkaje shared the news with the esteemed Daijiworld readers with those pathetic pictures, and within moments helping hands asked for more information about the family and its financial status.

Responding to the social cause, Daijiworld team visited the house and met the family, neighbours, parish priest and 'Gurkar' of their ward.

Daijiworld learnt that the family sincerely needs immediate assistance from the general public to rebuild the house for which the estimated cost will be about Rs 1 lac.

It is sad to note that Estel's only son Harish died at a young age two months ago. Now another tragedy has struck with the roof over her family's head being snatched away, leaving them helpless and hapless.

Estel Crasta was staying with her daughter Tina and grandchildren Princita (7), Cunita (6) and Sylvita (3). They were sleeping in this house when the roof caved in. At present they have taken shelter in one of their neighbour's house. But they need the help of generous donors to return their own house.

Donors may conact and communicate directly to the family:
