Mangalore, Jun 10: 'Give us time to fulfill the assurances given in the party manifesto during assembly elections. We will show what we are capable of,' said home minister Dr V S Acharya.
Speaking at the felicitation programme for the newly-elected legislators organized at Sri Gopalkrishna Temple in Shaktinagar in the city on Tuesday, June 10, he spelt out the priority of the state government as maintaining law and order in the state.

Meanwhile the minister sought ten days time from the farmers to bring under control the vitiated law and order situation owing to the shortage of fertilizers in the state.
Fisheries minister Krishna Palemar, BJP MLAs N Yogish Bhat, Lalaji Mendon and Lakshminarayan were felicitated on the occasion.
Shri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math blessed the occasion. N Vinay Hegde, chancellor of Nitte Deemed University, presided over the function. Thinker Erya Lakshminayan Alva, MLC Ganesh Karnik, M B Puranik, Dr Anantkrishna Bhat and others were present on the occasion.
