Bangalore: 'Koti Chennaya' Tulu Movie Bags National Award

Bangalore, Jun 11 : C/o Footpath, a Kannada film directed by the world's youngest director Master Kishan, has won the Golden Lotus Award in the 54th edition of the national film awards.
'Koti Chennaya' directed by Anand Raju has been adjudged the best regional language film. Kannada film, 'Kallarali Hoovagi' directed by T S Nagabharana has secured the best film award for national integration with B S Lingadevaru's 'Kada Beladingalu' winning the best regional film award. Films 'C/o Footpath' and 'Kallarali Hoovagi' will get cash prizes of three lac rupees each in addition to citation and memento, with 'Kada Beladingalu' getting two lac rupees.
Films like 'Cyanide' and 'Mungaru Male' which were among the 11 Kannada movies that vied for honours, but they could not make a mark.
Tulu film, 'Koti Chennaya' got the award meant for the films in regional languages that are not included in the eighth schedule.
'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' has bagged four awards, the most for any film. The national awards were meant for films made during the year 2006.
Among the above, 'Kada Beladingalu' has already been selected for the Indian Panorama . It may also be recalled that director Nagabharan had also bagged the national integration award earlier for his firlms, 'Grahana' and 'Santa Shishunala Shariff'.
