Udupi: MLA Raghupati Bhat's Wife Padmapriya Goes Missing - Abduction Suspected

Udupi, Jun 13: In a shocking incident, it is learnt that Padmapriya (32), wife of MLA K Raghupati Bhat has gone missing mysteriously since Tuesday June 10.

The incident came to light only on Friday June 13 morning, after her car was found abandoned near Kunjargiri hills near Katapady in the Shirva police station limits here. Family sources said that she had gone to her parents' house at Karnada near Mulky on Tuesday driving the car herself. But she neither reached her destination nor returned home.

Daijiworld correspondent reporting from Kunjargiri stated that her car which was found at Kunjargiri had been parked in the same place for the last three days. As the locals were not aware that the car belonged to MLA’s family, no one gave a serious thought to it.

Recent reports reaching Daijiworld said that money, her bangles which were smashed, a SIM card and a few tablets were found inside the car. The incident came to light when the police went to Kunjargiri following murder attempt on an autorickshaw driver Sudhakar Suvarna by some miscreants. The police spotted the abandoned car while investigating the murder attempt and traced through RTO that the car belonged to Raghupati Bhat.

When contacted by the police, Raghupati Bhat is said to have informed them that she had been missing for the last three days. Now the Shirva police have registered a case and have initiated investigation. Western Range IGP A M Prasad, DySP Girish have already arrived at the spot along with Shirva police sub-inspector Joy Anthony.

Sniffer dog squad and fingerprint experts have already visited the spot. Raghupati Bhat was found to be extremely down with sorrow when the media persons contacted him over the phone. He refused to divulge any information other than that she has been missing mysteriously for the last three days.

Raghupati Bhat, who was in Bangalore when the news broke out in the media, is on his way back to his hometown.
