Udupi: Visa frauds – Indian Embassy from Saudi writes to state government

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (RJP)

Udupi, Oct 22: Indian Embassy from Riyadh Saudi Arabia, has written a letter to Karnataka government regarding visa frauds taking place in the region.

The Embassy has asked to take necessary measures to curb the frauds. It mentions that some agents in the state are sending many people to foreign lands with wrong promises. The employees only come to know about the realities once they start working in foreign lands.

Udupi superintendent of police Dr Sanjeev Patil gave details about this letter in a phone-in programme with the public.

The letter asks the state government to educate the general public about employment frauds as well as to take stringent measures to contain these frauds.

Frauds are everywhere, they are universal. They are a way of life for some who prey upon honest, gullible people. Many people make a fabulous living out of them, including - I am not afraid to say - the politicians - the latter are often called "kickbacks". Not just in India, but even in western countries, including Canada, US and Europe. Just the other day, in Canada, fraudsters were at the game - luring people on the internet by saying they have a tax refund coming, so they have to disclose their account numbers and SIN (= PAN); sometimes they phone to say that the gullible taxpayer has been audited and there will be criminal charges..... and many fall for it. There is a lesson to be learned from all of these scams; don't fall for it by disclosing without checking - go straight to the authorities to verify (they may also be corrupt and hand-in-glove with fraudsters); if a deal is too good to be true, don't fall for it.

In similar lines I would recommend the prospective brides of IT tech's working here need to come here on visit visa or fiancee visa and check if they have the status as per their promise instead of going back after the honeymoon & filing Dowry Harassment, Domestic Violence & Alimony case back home in India. It should be noted that there is no dowry here as people don't wear any gold. The following points are to be noted-
    1. Here it's not guaranteed that a particular designation earns a certain amount of salary. Eg: A Plumbing Engineer could be earning more that a President/Vice President or Project Manager of a company.
    2. Here there are certain companies where people from India seek job more than any other company. But those companies pay less as the work related stress is less when compared to other companies. Those companies mostly outsource their jobs to India and the person working here coordinates the employees in India.
    3. Driving history, work history, credit history etc., add up & could affect the net salary a person earns as car insurance, loan payment & all depends on a person's driving & credit history.
