Mangalore, Jun 21: The minister made the programme unique by his deed. The school in which minister Krishna J Palemar had studied initially, had organized a felicitation programme to honour Palemar on his elevation as minister. Palemar, like a true, obedient student, felt the honour should go to his primary school teachers. Instead of accepting the felicitation, he dedicated the honour to his teachers!

St John's Higher Primary School, Jeppu where Krishna Palemar completed his primary education, had organized a programme to honour him. Krishna Palemar utilised this opportunity to honour retired teachers Rahupati Bhat, Mary and Leelavati, who had taught him at the school.

Fr Vincent Menezes presided over the function. Corporators Rajashree and Premanand Shetty, Old Students Association president P V Anil and Catholic Board of Education (CBE) inspector Saturin Mascarenhas were present on the dais.

Elizabeth Monteiro welcomed the gathering. Anita Menezes compered the programme.
